Hailing from Curaçao, Vernon lived in Cuba where he studied music before moving to the Netherlands in 2009 to study under famed Curaçaoan jazz pianist Randal Corsen. Vernon's exploration of Zikinza, an old sound archive, led him through the history of Afro-Curaçaoan music and its contributors and pioneers. As a result, expect a blend of traditional percussion from Curaçao embedded in chamber music with elements of jazz.
