What happens when you fuse electric psychedelic sounds, samples / organ sounds / electronics with jazz and rock? The answer comes from an extraordinary new german band project called TRINITY XPERIMENT, featuring former Matalex – keyboard player Matthias Krauss, the ubiquitous Gudze (from german rock band H-Blockx ! ) on electric bass and samples alongside the incredible Franz Holtmann on guitar.
Thank goodness there’re bands still out there making the world safe for dangerous music. Trinity Xperiment is a great example for that. Critics have referred to Trinity Xperiment as “exotic”,
“thrilling” and “intrepid”
If ever there was a genre that seemed immune from successful revival, jazz-fusion seemed a prime candidate. But this adventurous debut collaboration does more than breath new life into fusion; it imparts it a nervous, electric economy and much-needed tongue-in-cheek sense of mischief.
“Honeymoon On Mars” is the first installment in the collaboration of Matthias Krauss, Franz Holtmann and Gudze. Together they have turned up the heat, further progressing their sound into a more aggressive mix of funk, jazz and jamband-style rock. Trinity Xperiment brings a real, earthy and energetic performance that will appeal to jazz, funk and electronic enthusiasts alike. Their trademark sound of electronic riffing reverberates a dynamic tension
throughout the album. The result sounds unique and is a brilliant collage of texture, rhythm, soul and originality.
It’s wat the phrase cutting edge was invented for, and an impressive debut too.
The trio is backed by the way by two excellent drummers: Marco Minnemann and Jost Nickel.
Also featured as special guest is Ex-Can-member / living legend Holger Czukay.
