Since the late 1970's James Moody has worked as a "sideman" guitarist for some of the biggest names in the music business, playing live shows, concert tours, and recording dates. Since moving to Catalina Island, California, in 1990, James has worked as a full-time musician during which time he has had the opportunity to play with musicians such as Grover Washington Jr., Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Peter White and Monty Budwig. He feels extremely fortunate to be able to pursue his musical career in a place that he loves so much. On his new, original release, Kite Hill, James is joined by some of the top studio musicians in the world.
Once again, James Moody has put together an album that renders the joys of creativity, imagination, and spirit. This compilation of original tunes integrates an eclectic mix of rhythms and sounds cool Blues, smooth Jazz, sizzling Latin, electric and acoustic that breaks through the confines of the conventional and sends ones musical spirit to flight. There are no dull moments in Kite Hill, and just as the tile suggests, this album is as spontaneous and surprising as the wind.
