“Earthspeaker ” That’s what a friend called me recently, and I thought it was a perfect title for this album. Earthspeaker picks up where The Painted Desert left off, and these latest compositions are an expression of what I have seen and felt in the world this past year. I’d say they are closest to sonic paintings, a combination of my life experiences and the impact of an extremely powerful and dynamic year. We recorded this in New Mexico and Washington state, and I assembled the musicians from both of those places, knowing that they had the capacity to capture this same vision – a little of the desert, a little of the sea.
