Native Instruments is a music software company based in Berlin, Germany. The company was founded in 1996 by Stephan Schmitt and Volker Hinz, and became one of the pioneers in the field of software synthesis, with their first product being the modular synthesis software Generator (now under the name Reaktor).
Today, Native Instruments offers a wide range of music software, including software synthesizers, samplers, and effects. Among them are the Hammond organ emulation B4, the semi-modular synthesizer Absynth, the digital guitar studio Guitar Rig, and the DJ software Traktor DJ Studio.
Native Instruments also co-develops the digital DJ system Final Scratch together with Stanton Magnetics, and has made an alliance with the dance music online store Beatport.
