Vesa Ranta played drums in Sentenced, one of Finland's most lasting metal bands. The band released "Shadows Of The Past", their official debut album, in 1991. Originating in the death metal field Sentenced gradually progressed towards a more traditional metal style.



Vesa Ranta is an original member of the band. In the early 1990's he was also the man behind the beat in another

death metal band named Anthony.



More recently Vesa Ranta has been drumming in The Man-Eating Tree, an atmospheric metal band also featuring current/former members of Poisonblack, Reflexion and Embraze.
