Tony Kirkemo replaced original drummer Tjodalv in Old Man's Child in 1996. In June 1997 the band went into Studiomega to record their second full-lenght album. The album was named "The Pagan Prosperity" and hit the stores in early autumn that same year.
After the release of "The Pagan Prosperity the band somewhat collapsed". Tony Kirkemo couldn’t handle to play the advanced drum arrangements Galder had written, and other band member Gonde experienced some personal problems (drugs), so he got fired from the band. Kirkemo also left because he had enough work with a full-time job, his other band Minas Tirith and a family...
As Old Man's Child didn’t want to use a drum machine, they hired the highly accomplished drum legend Gene Hoglan to play session drums on their next album.
Using the alias of Tony White, Tony Kirkemo currently plays in Chrome Division, the Norwegian five-piece featuring Dimmu Borgir frontman Shagrath. He joined the band in summer 2005 when previous sticksman Lex Icon decided to depart.
