Tony Morando, who was born as Michael Anthony Haugh, is best known as the drummer and vocalist with the Manhattans, one of Pendle’s cabaret groups, from the early 1970s to the late 1980s.
The threesome were popular entertainers at venues such as the Manor House at Thornton-in-Craven, Nelson Grammar School Old Boys Club, Nelson Old Brass Band Club and the Talbot Hotel in Burnley.
The Manhattans also played holiday camps such as Butlin’s (Minehead) and toured in Norway during the 1980s.
Tony Morando died suddenly in his home city of Dublin just before Christmas 2010.
