Timo Ellis is a drummer, guitarist, singer and producer from New York City. he is currently in the band The Netherlands, also has a commercial music company called 70%Water Music, and often works with Ron A. Shaffer at Atlantic West Studios in Brooklyn, NY.
Timo Ellis attended The Evergreen State College in Washington, and it was while in school there that he first began working in music, with bands such as Nubbin, Lemonade, Hotess, Freebird, and Dig Yer Grave.
Ellis returned to New York in 1994, where he joined with Sam Koppelman and Sean Lennon to record as IMA. IMA backed Lennon's mother, Yoko Ono, on her album "Rising".
Sean Lennon became a member of the band Cibo Matto, and Ellis began playing drums with that band on live dates. He also played drums (among others) on Lennon's debut album "Into the Sun", and played with him on tour.
Timo Ellis recorded with Cibo Matto on their album "Stereo * Type A", before recording his first solo Ep "The Enchanted Forest of Timo Ellis".
Since then he's played and recorded with the aqua-metal band Bird of Doom, put out an LP with B.O.D., released another EP, "Master of PopHits" and released two solo albums, "T.O.A.S.T. Redux" and "High Score" , all on his own record label Records and Tapes Records.
Currently Timo Ellis is working on the second release of the Marcy Mnenonics, a collection of rock miniatures tentatively titled "Van Halen II". He lives in Brooklyn.
