Thomas Heinz took private drum lessons from Eckhard Jung and Michael Strunk, followed by the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Dinkelsbühl (teachers included Joachim Sponsel, Udo Dahmen and Claus Hessler). More recently he has studied at the Drummers Focus in Köln.



In 2008 Thomas Heinz won the international Drummer of Tomorrow contest.



Thomas Heinz has worked with Landslide, Windstärke 12, Lichtpunkt, Küchmeister, Edwin Hawkins, Caroh, Janc, Parish, Martin Pepper, Brother Act, The Royal we, DickesB, ShaolinFightClub, Hadaway, Emma Langford, The Wright Thing, Robbee Mariano, Rolf Stahlhofen, Soulmates, Jörg Knör, Stefan Rademacher, Marin Subasic, Saxvibes, Fresh Music Live, among many others.
