Drummer Sterling Lee Brooks was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan to the parents of Lee and Angela Brooks and the nephew of Wiseguys lead guitarist James Owens.
Sterling began playing the drums at age 5 at his Grandfathers church Greater Grace, where he begin singing with the family’s gospel group the Chosen Son’s and Daughter. In his early teens he played drums for most of the local gospel groups of Saginaw.
Mr. Brooks later formed his own youth choir, Sterling Brooks and the Connection choir and recorded a live CD with this chior. Performing at musicals, musical workshops, church functions, and opening acts for John P Kee and Kirk Franklin and many many more...
In the Summer of 2002 Sterling Lee Brooks became a member of the Wiseguys band, backing blues vocalist Sharrie WIlliams.
Sterling is a powerful drummer, full of energy. He loves to have fun on stage, you never know what he is going to do, when ever you look back at him he is always smiling, maybe because he is the baby of the band.
