Stefan "Steffi" Hircher was the original drummer in Berlin punkrock outfit Beatsteaks. Starting in 1995, Hircher and the rest of the band released their official debut album in 1997: "48/49". They played with acts like Faith No More, Dog Eat Dog and Lagwagon but did not break through.
That same year Hircher and the Beatstakes paerted ways. Hircher was replaced by Thomas Götz.
