Rory Knapton joined his first band, Eddie and the Hillrocks, as a 9-year-old drummer. The group couldn't find an adult drummer so Rory's mother loaded him and his drum kit into her car and drove him to a bar on the outskirts of Brunswick where Eddie and the Hillrocks played.
Through high school at Glynn Academy, Knapton played in a series of garage bands. Then, as a student at what was then Brunswick Junior College, he joined ranks with three other aspiring rock stars in a band called Flood.
Rory Knapton's current band, Midnight Clear, signed with CBS Records after winning 2007's Early Show on CBS Live Battle of the Bands.
