Roberto Colonese was born as Roberto Lopes da Rosa in Rio de Janeiro oin May 16, 1982.
Colonese is percussionist in Sayowa, alongside Bernardo Badin and drummer Raphael Laport.
He started playing at age 18, inspired by bands like Nação Zumbi, Soulfly, Sepultura and Brasilian rhythms such as Samba, Maracatu and Forro. Roberto Colonese received some lessons from Carlos Negreiros at the Maracatu Brasil(school) and from Luizão at the Musikfabrik(school), both in Rio de Janeiro.
After the release of Sayowa's debut album, Colonese and the rest of the band continued recording a song for the compilation "Angar de Almas – Tribute to Megadeth".
