Richard Furman was drummer for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Brenda Lee. He played with Lee from the late '70s through the mid-'80s. Before her, he had played with Drift Away singer Dobie Gray, Stella Parton, Vern Gosdin and many others, working primarily as a road musician.



Richard Furman retired soon after he left Lee's band to launch a lawn-care business.



More recently, Richard Furman has been suffering from Stage IV esophageal and stomach cancer.
