Renaud van Hooland (Charleroi, 1970) studied drums with Bruno Castellucci at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels.(1996-2000)
Before that, he had already received the ‘médaille du gouvernement’ for classical klarinet.
He attended workshops and masterclasses with Steve Smith, Dave Weckl and Chad Wackerman, in Munchen.
Renaud performed with Aka Moon (De Munt Brussel, ‘théâtre de ville’ in Parijs, opéra de Lyon for de world creation ‘Wintermarchen’
He played on the ‘Django d’Or event for the Viva Musica festival with Phil Abraham. Participated in a ‘lundi d’Hortense tour’ with ‘Tomas & Co’.
Events for Corona in Italy with a DJ and dancers, concerts with the ‘Klezmer Jazz Band’, with Philippe Leblanc and Alexandre Plumacher in Greece.
Renaud van Hooland currently teaches in Waterloo en in the European school in Brussels.
Since 1999 Van Hooland has played in Dalton Drum Syndicate: four drummers on one stage, featuring Marc van Eyk, Didier Fontaine and Maxime Lenssens along Van Hooland himself.
