Quintino Cinalli is a drummer and percussionist from Santa Fe, Argentina that has made an important contribution to the development of South American percussion by adapting the folkloric rhythms of Candombe, Murga, Chacarera, Zamba and Tango to drumset and percussion. He is an innovative and passionate artist who incorporates distinct genres of South American roots with Jazz, Rock and World Music while preserving his rich cultural heritage.
Quintino Cinalli has performed with great South American musicians such as Pedro Aznar, Rubén Rada, Hugo Fattoruso, Airto Moreira, Dino Saluzzi, amongst others. He has participated in various drum festivals in Latin America, Europe and the United States.
In 2004, Quintino Cinalli was awarded the Fondart Award. In 2005, he was recognized at the International Drum Fest of Mendoza, Argentina for his professional accomplishments and his contributions to South American music.
Quintino has released four solo cds and has authored a book on Uruguayan drum rhythms called "Candombe y Murga Rioplatense". He has taught at the School of Music and Sound at UNIACC University in Santiago, Chile and various master classes internationally.
Currently, Quintino Cinalli is based in New York City where he is collaborating with a variety of local musicians and participating on recording projects. While perfecting and expanding his musical horizons he also continues to work on personal music projects.
