United Kingdom
Hailing from Herefordshire, George Barnett was already transfixed by the drummer at a family party when he was twelve months old. However, George had to wait until his third birthday for his first kit. At the age of six he started taking lessons at the Rugby Music Centre, where his teacher, Andy Clarke, inspired and influenced him greatly.

George Barnett has attended the last two Rhythm Courses in Bath. He also plays piano and guitar.

George Barnett is influenced by lots of drummers, including Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland, Dave Grohl, John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Colin Woolway and Pete Riley.

In January 2006 George Barnett was one of the finalists of the Young Drummer of the Year (YDOTY), organised by mikedolbear.com. He made it to the Finals again in 2007. George won Mike Dolbear's 2008 Young Drummer of the Year competition.

George Barnett is currently in a number of bands including Tiramisu, Blame Kenny and The Pombear Originals, as well as performing solo. He also deps regularly for other artists and bands, and runs his own percussion group. George has a vast experience of touring, having toured with world famous drumming phenomenon Jojo Mayer in September 2008, and performing gigs far and wide across Europe.

Currently, George Barnett is organising a tour with Aquarian, studio work with legendary hip-hop artist Brotherman, and various sessions for big names in the industry throughout the UK. He is also writing, performing and producing his own mixtape for numerous record labels.
