Bård G. Eithun is best known as Faust, former drummer in Emperor. Another alias he operates under is Ove Thørnqvist. After his departure from Emperor, he was replaced by Trym Torson (real name: Kai Johnny Mosaker).



Eithun/Faust/Thørnqvist does not only ask for attention by playing loud drums... He also spent nine years and four months in prison for stabbing a gay man and burning a church. After his release Eithun joined notorious black metalband Dissection in 2002. On Western Front (november 2002) Eithun stated:

"I am really excited about the Dissection involvement. It will be an honor to perform the classic tracks as well as the new ones that Jon [Nödtveit] has created while behind bars. He assures me that it will be in the classic Dissection vein."

Bård "Faust" Eithun took the place of Ole Öhman, who played between 1990 and 1995 in Dissection.



Regarding a rumored collaboration with former Emperor-guitarist Samoth, Eithun commented on the same website:

"Other possible plans are very much in the air and we have decided to not reveal anything since nothing is cleared. I am sure people are generally fed up by projects being hyped up and then eventually falls out into nothing."

In December 2003 Eithun left Dissection as he was unable to stand

behind the band's satanic ideology – according to Faust:

"My relation to Dissection is simply musical. The problem occurs when the band takes form more as a cult where there are rules for behaviors and strict codes."

Bård Eithun started playing with Scum and Bomberos. In 2005 he officially became a member of Italian band Aborym.
