Terl Bryant has over 150 albums recording experience and more than 20 years touring experience.

"OVER THE YEARS" Bryant's biography in his own words:

I recall being about 6 years old, sitting behind my dad in his sports car banging on the back of his seat whilst some groovy rock music blasted out on the radio. All of a sudden..............he pulled the car over, and in frustration shouted, if you going to bang on the back of my seat - DO IT IN TIME!... from then on I was focused.

I became mad about drums and got my first drum set when I was 12, I practised hard at home working out the beats on my favourite records; Deep Purple, Captain Beefheart, Bob James, Deodato, Peter Frampton, Beatles etc., and by 15 I was playing in local pubs.

I moved to London aged 17, but turned down an audition for Adam at the Ants (before their huge success). At 18 I joined a Bedfordshire based called 'Stranger', which later became 'Tobruk' (remember them??). I left soon after we auditioned singer Fish (later of Marillion), who was travelling the UK looking for a band to join. Two of the band didn't want him while the bassist and I thought he was fantastic. He was obviously going places.

I left the UK for California in 1981, and ended up playing and living in Newport Beach. I soon joined a band called the 'The Dining Cocktails, fronted by the fabulous Chris Gaffney. Walter Trout (Canned Heat) would sometimes come and sit in with us.

In 1992 I came to faith (there's an interesting story) and joined a church in Santa Ana. It wasn't long before I was in the worship band and through new friends and contacts ended up doing sessions with Gospel artists including Darrell Mansfield, Common Bond, Daniel Amos, Body & Soul and others. I played in schools, on church missions and even at the 1984 Olympic village for the athletes.

In 1984 I joined Steve Taylor's 'Some Band' and toured across the States and Europe. It was good times - and Steve had a Billboard No.1 with the song 'Hero'. Having been in the States for almost five years and after touring Europe in 1985 I was frustratingly refused re-entry to the USA

In 1996, after a depressing Winter I auditioned and was offered the job drumming for Ex-Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy.

Things picked up and I was soon back out touring. I was a band member for 6 years - making three albums, the most successful of which 'Deep' included the track 'Cuts You Up' which became a No.1 hit in the US alternative charts. In between, I started to develop a reputation doing UK Gospel sessions for artists like Phil & John, Kingsway Music, Alliance, Word records, Dave Bilbrough, Noel Richards, Ishmael, Graham Kendrick etc....

Two years after a session on their debut album in 1989 I was asked to join the amazing band IONA. Over the next six years we toured Europe, USA and the UK regularly, and made a further 4 albums. Through Iona's 'Celtic' and broad expressive style I was able to further explore using percussion and drum set together and develop my bodhran playing.

Juliet and I were married in 1992. During the following years I continued to work with Iona, do numerous kit and percussion sessions and developed a good working relationship with Steve Levine with whom I made records for Louise, The Honeyz, Kings Singers, Syrens, 911 and others.

In 1996 I started connecting with believing drummers and percussionists creating a charity called Psalm Drummers. Little did I know how it would grow! There are now something like 2000 members with more than 50 regional contacts in 10 different countries around the world.

Through 1998 I toured with the gospel show 'City of Gold' and also spent time playing for the wonderful Roddy Frame (Aztec Camera). We toured the UK and did TV appearances on Chris Evans' TFI show and VH1 in London.

In 1999 I joined former Led Zeppelin bassist/keyboard player John Paul Jones' new project. This was a dream come true to play intense expressive, instrumental music (album ZOOMA on Global Mobile Discipline) with two extraordinary genius musicians, JPJ and Nick Beggs (Chapman Stick). In 1999 & 2000 we toured USA, Britain, Europe and Japan. What a great honour too, to play some of John Bonham's ground breaking parts on the Zeppelin tunes included in the set.

Spring 2001 saw work on John Paul Jones thrilling new album 'The Thunderthief' released in Feb 2002. I joined the 1st US Psalm Drummers gathering with 350 drummers in Jan, hosted one for 200 UK drummers in London in May, worked with Steeleye Span, Eden's Bridge, Maire Brennan/Margaret Becker and Joanne Hogg, Barry & Batya Segal, Joe King, Steve Levine, Suburban Dreams, Tanya Hayden, Jo Stevens, Rich Lacy, and appeared on Songs of Praise four times!.......take a breath.....and spent Nov/Dec in USA with JPJ on a double headline tour with King Crimson.

In 2002 Terl put together the backing band for Faith Hill (US award winning singer). The band performed for her European TV promotional tour for the Warner single release Cry. Dates included Top of the Pops, Des OConnor, GMTV and appearances in Sweden and Germany.
