He went to St Wilfrid's Catholic School, Crawley, where he met Kevin Jeremiah and Ciaran Jeremiah, now fellow members of The Feeling.
He currently lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, with his wife, former Fame Academy graduate Sinéad Quinn. They became engaged on 9 October 2007 and were married in Quinn's hometown Irvinestown, Northern Ireland on 6 December 2008.
Paul Stewart is best known as drummer for The Feeling. Since signing to Island Records in 2006 the band have released 3 studio albums, the second of which, Join With Us, went straight in at No.1. They have sold over 1.5 million records and in 2007 won the Ivor Novello award for Songwriters of the Year and were the most played artist on British radio. The Feeling's other career highlights include touring America on the VH1 You Oughta Know Tour, playing the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, and the Concert for Diana at Wembley Stadium, viewed by 500 million people worldwide. The band includes Elton John, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello and Kiefer Sutherland as fans of their music and have backed a number of artists at various special events and festivals including Beverly Knight, Glen Tilbrook (Squeeze), Graham Gouldman (10cc) and Paul Young. They are currently recording their fourth album in their studio, The Doghouse, in East London.
Before the success of the band, Paul's career also featured extensive pop session work which began at the age of 19. His stint in the house band for a Channel 4 TV show saw him accompany the likes of LL Cool J, Public Enemy and Spice Girls, and he subsequently toured with Sophie Ellis Bextor, Jennifer Paige and Sinead Quinn. He also regularly performs with Sinead's Rockabilly band, Sinead & The Dawnbreakers, who have appeared on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show and BBC Children in Need.
Paul is proud to say he is endorsed by Tama, Zildjian, Remo, Vic Firth and Protection Racket. He also recently became an SE Electronics endorsee with his project 'Paul Stewart - Bespoke Drum Recordings'.
