Oscar Harrison plays drums for Ocean Colour Scene. He started out in the 11-piece reggae collective, Echo Base. They were signed to same label as UB40 with whom they toured and despite releasing an album it seemed that they were going nowhere. Through the manager of Echo Base, Oscar met with The Fanatics and joined them immediately (replacing Caroline Bullock on drums - the woman who would later return to haunt Simon, by ‘outing’ him in The Sun)
Oscar Harrison primarily plays the drums, but also piano (In fact these skills were very evident during the recent acoustic tour). He is the oldest member of the band. He has two sons, Leon and Damon Stephen Simon Isaac Harrison (Isaac is the name of Oscar's father), although he is soon expecting a third child.
Oscar Harrison's ambition is to live on a house boat and he is obsessed with gadgets and anything mechanical. Oscar is an avid Aston Villa supporter, a keen golfer and suffers badly from hay fever. He has has a string of injuries to his back caused by a slipped disc which have required gig cancellations and/or replacements.
Oscar Harrison hits his drums with the energy and spirit you'd expect. He often looks a touch grumpy when posing for pictures but once the adrenaline gets going on stage, he's as wild as can be.
Was alledged to have been the band member involved in a fight which caused Damon Minchella to be released by the group in early December 2003. For the ‘Hyperactive Workout’ Album, Oscar sings for the first time as lead, covering Bob’s Andys ‘My Time’ which also goes down very well on the 26 date tour of that year, the band promise more songs from Oscar in the future.
