In 1990 bassist/vocalist Olve 'Abbath' Eikemö forms Immortal. After several line-up changes he plays drums during the recording of "Pure Holocaust" (1993) - despite the crediting of Erik Brodeskift as a drummer on the album.



In absence of a drummer it was again Abbath who drummed during the recording of Battles in the North (1994).



Subsequently the band tours for the promotion of the album with session dummer Axel 'Hellhammer' von Blomberg in 1995.



In 1996 Reidar 'Horgh' Horghagen joins Immortal as a drummer on structural basis. Horgh stays until the band splits up in 2003.
