The drummer is the guy in the back that no one notices... Unless you’re Nicolino Maiellano! He’s an integral part of the three piece band from Philadelphia known as Showin’ Tell. Nicolino's not just the resident skin pounder who backs the hot shredder or pretty girl singer in front, he has creative force of thunder and brings experience, technique and flash to his performance. With a stage style reminiscent of an 80’s glam band, you might think he’s all smoke and mirrors but thats just part of it. He plays very John Bonham-ish but he’s his own man, using double bass work and accents the band’s original compositions. You'll have to see for yourself to know!
Nicolino brings an energy slam to Showin’ Tell, a modern rock trio combining irresistible hooks with a 70’s British punk mentality. They’ve opened for Sarah Bettens (K’s Choice), Shadow's Fall, Lacuna Coil, and Stone Sour. They do six to twelve shows each month throughout the Northeast as well as gigs throughout the states. They host the Jagermeister Original Music Showcase in the Philadelphia area monthly to help spotlight original bands.
Nicolino's influences are from a wide variety of skin bashers, including Mike Mangini, Eric Carr, Eric Singer, and John Bonham.
Formerly with metal band Gothik, Nicolino opened for artists like Queensryche and Type O Negative. His goal as a drummer is to continue working with the band onto the next level, learn more about the business, and passing it on to the young teens he mentors.
Nicolino strongly believes that music is a great way to keep young kids from the negative influences that are around them every day. In many ways, he’s not your typical drummer. Not only does he devote time to these kids but Showin’ Tell plays at least twice a month with WXPN Musicians On Call, an organization that works in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area hospitals.
Nicolino Maiellano also does charitable work for animals, which he has a huge love for, at a local animal shelter. Nicolino is a down to earth guy who doesn’t drink or abuse drugs.
