The desire to work in the music business inspired Ned Douglas to graduate from The London School of Sound Engineering in 1991, when he went straight into full-time employment with Andy Wright. Wright was soon to become a successful producer, but at that time was a busy programmer/writer whose varied clientele provided Douglas with an enviable training.
After assisting Wright with his work on the Simply Red album "Life," and touring with them as a full-time programmer, Douglas formed an enduring working relationship with Dave Stewart in 1999 that has resulted in collaborations with Marianne Faithfull, Gwen Stefani, Mudbone, Nadz and Jimmy Cliff. Douglas has also worked on other projects for Stewart, including the OST for Lara Croft (Tomb Raider 2) and the new film version of Alfie.
Recent and current projects include programming with Al Stone on tracks for Hooverphonic, Axelle Red and Eagle Eye Cherry; working with Dave Stewart on the AIDS Awareness Concert in Jamaica with Nelson Mandela; and collaborating with both Stone and Stewart on writing projects.
