Nanae Mimura, an incredibly talented marimbist / vibraphonist who gave her debut performance at that shrine of classical music, Carnegie Hall, is one of the most prominent musical artists of today. Mimura’ s high level of skill over a long period is evidenced by the many awards she has received in various competitions since school age, and by her four-year tenure as faculty at the renowned Berklee College of Music (Boston).
After graduating from Kunitachi College of Music with top honors, receiving the Takeoka Award and the NTT DoCoMo Award as well as a scholarship to study music, Nanae Mimura enrolled in the master's program
at the Boston Academy of Music. Having lived in the US for the last 8 years, she currently resides in Tokyo.
Nanae Mimura has been invited at such prestigious institutions as the Juilliard School in New York, Duke University, Harvard University, and Princeton University, as well as giving clinics and masterclasses at Universities all over the Country.
Nanae Mimura’ s music possesses great depth while remaining rhythmical and dynamic, and enveloping the listener in its warmth. As a Japanese, and as a citizen of the world, she promotes international goodwill through her music, performing in more than 14 countries around the world.
