Mikael Norén joined Swedish thrashers Impious just five weeks before the recording of a new album.
previous drummer Ulf Johansson had joined the band in 1996, replacing temporary drummer Marko. Johansson left the band in February 2002. Impious immediately braught in Mikael Norén, and in just a few weeks he learned all the 10 songs for the album. So in March 2002 the band recorded their third album "The Killer".
Between 2000 and 2003 Mikael Norén played in Enthralled, 'heavy thrash metal with death-growl vocals'.
