Melanie Krahmer is the drummer (playing a full kit while standing up) and the lead vocalist for the soulful indie pop/rock duo Sirsy, also featuring Rich Libutti.



She has been drumming professionally since 2005. Melanie Krahmer's story is different from most, as she didn’t learn drums as a child.



Sirsy started as an acoustic duobut since they were writing rock songs, they wanted to perform them that way and added more players to their band.



After multiple line-up changes Melanie and Rich went back to a duo. Out of necessity they made their duo sound like four people — and that’s when Melanie Krahmer became the drummer. Says Melanie: "People always ask me how I was able to start playing drums right out of the gate. Truth is, I don’t really know. I do know that playing drums is the most fun I’ve ever had playing an instrument."
