Mattias Borgh, born in Sweden 1975, started drumming at the age of ten and studied for some years with Lars Östlund at Strängnäs culture school.
Age thirteen Mattias founded the band Embryo, with this band he played his first live shows.
In 1992, at age 16, Mattias Borgh joined the cult phenomena group Crypt of Kerberos.
In january of 1993 Crypt of Kerberos recorded their debut album World of Myths for Adipocere Records, France. The album was released to critical acclaim in seventeen countries including the USA. In 2005 Australian record label Bleed Records published a cd with unreleased material entitled Crypt of Kerberos: The Macrodex of War. Mattias Borgh produced and mastered this album.
Crypt Of Kerberos reunited in January of 2006 and are currently working on a new album.
Mattias Borgh is also drummer in the bands Blood Mortized ( featuring former Amon Amarth guitarist Anders Hansson), Embryo, and Arcana.
Music Studies:
1996-2000 Stockholm Music Conservatorium, Hemse Folkhogskola, Billstrommska Folkhogskolan.
2000-2004 Studies at the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague, Holland, with Eric Ineke.
During his studies at the Royal Conservatoire he also took lessons from Joe La Barbera, John Ruocco, Hein Van de Geyn,Willy Jones III, Jamey Haddad, Billy Hart and David Liebman.
In 2004 Mattias received a Bachelor degree of music and a Teachers degree for his pedagogical studies.
In 2003 Mattias formed The Wood Ensemble. A jazz quartet performing mainly Nordic and original material. During the year The Wood Ensemble gave concerts in Holland and made a successful tour in Sweden.
In 2003 Mattias performed Widow and Song Lines written by Louis Andriessen at the Steve Reich festival with the award winning Python Saxophone Quartet (Vandoren 2002 competition).
Python Saxophone Quartet and Mattias also performed at the world famous Concert Gebouw, Amsterdam during the Uitmarkt festival, at Theater de Tobbe, The Hague and in Cologne, Germany and in 2006 on the Cross-linx festival. Mattias has also performed a number of times with Python Quartet saxophonist Leonie Schaller.
From 2003 Mattias works as the house drummer at the Haagsche Bluf, The Hague.
From 2005 Mattias plays live percussion with Arcana.
Mattias Borgh is performing in diverse genras such as jazz, contemporary classical, extreme metal and he is currently teaching drums at Music Station the music school owned by Golden Earing drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk in The Hauge."
