Matti Kärki was the original drummer and vocalist in Swedish 'grindcore' merchant General Surgery.



The band was formed by Matti Kärki (drums/vocals) and Grant McWilliams ( bass guitar) in December 1988. Name was thought up by Matti, derived from some graphical medical handbook, an interest which Matti and Grant shared with a certain morbidity.



After several months of inactivity, Matti gathered a fresh batch of sad bastards in December 1989, including Mats Nordrup to hit the skins behind the drumkit.



Matti Kärki was also in Carbonized, Carnage, Dismember and Murder Squad.
