Hailing from from Moncton, New Brunswick, Mark Gaudet joined Canadian indie rockers Eric's Trip (featuring Julie Doiron) in 1991. Gaudet replaced initital drummer Ed Vaughan. He stayed until the band broke up in 1996, but continued playing with Julie Doiron.



Gaudet has played in various grunge and metal music groups, such as The Whoremans, No Explanation, Purple Knight, Elevator and Funeral Fog. In Funeral Fog, he uses the stage name Shithammer.
