Lennart Gruvstedt is a former student of the late Bent Lylloff. After Lylloff died, Lennart Gruvstedt took over the percussion program at Malmoe Academy of Music in Sweden in 1980.
Other percussion faculty members teaching at the academy include Nicklas Holmberg and Peter Fältskog.
Many of the percussionists in the major symphony orchestras in Scandinavia and percussion teachers in music schools in Sweden are former students of the Malmoe Academy of Music.
