"From there I hussled a lot, moved down to London, which was a killer, trying to get your foot in the door. The CandyFlip thing had finished and it was like “what are you going to do”. There were a few producers who I knew from that so I moved to London and started picking up work with them. I was having lessons with Paul Elliot at the time and then I got into a band called Apes, Pigs and Spacemen which were signed to Zomba. The usual scenario, lots of gigs, lots of time spent and then spent quite a long time trying to get out of a record deal! After that, I was picking up quite a bit of work with lots of different people – TV, sessions and stuff as well as teaching down at Drumtech. Then in ’98 I got Heather’s gig."Jenkins recorded and toured with Heather Nova every year between 1998 and 2003, and even managed to tour and record with other artists.
