Lancelee Trimm was a drummer and artist who didn't require much to make music. He would lay down beats with a pair of drum sticks on chairs, tables, the floor. Or, he'd simply slap the palms of his hands on his thighs to keep rhythm. He could render any object within reach, from sticks to cooking utensils, into percussion instruments.
Lancelee Trimm graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 2007 and studied music at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. and art at the Community College of Vermont in Bennington. He played in several area bands and performed at local venues, including Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, before moving to New York City to pursue varied artistic interests.
On November 27, 2010 - after a Saturday afternoon shopping trip to Bennington, Vt. - Lancelee Trimm lost control of his SUV along with other cars on a section of black ice on the highway. Trimm's vehicle flipped, killing him. He was only 21 years old.
