Kipp Daniel Crawford was a drummer, who spent his last seven years in Portland, playing drums in Americana/rock band Celilo, electro-jazz outfit the Fractal Quintet and rock band Thanks Kipp.
When Kipp Crawford wasn't playing, he was in his basement, recording other bands as a producer, making his living as a musician.
On November 4th, 2009 Kipp Crawford died after he was apparently assaulted by a robber and then run over as the 31 year old musician rode his bike home early in the morning.
Celilo began their first show after the death of drummer Kipp Crawford with the drum kit empty. Next Don of Division Street's drummer Matt Cadenelli, who had played with Celilo before, stepped in on drums for Celilo's live shows.
