Born as John Simon Ritchie on May 10, 1957, this drummer is best known as Sid Vicious, bassist in the notorious punk band Sex Pistols.



Before he adopted the name Vicious and joined the Pistols, John Simon Ritchie drummed in Siouxie and the Banshees. As Richie was out, Pete Fenton came in as his replacement.



On February 2, 1979 Sid Vicious died of an drug overdose.
