Jody Stephens is best known as drummer for influential ’70s power-pop band Big Star.



In August 2005 the band released their first album in thirty years: "In Space", featuring vocalist Alex Chilton and Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow of The Posies.



The group's lead singer and guitarist, Alex Chilton, died in March 2010 only days before Big Star were set to perform at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
