Jerome Dehedin, also known as Jerome Dufosse Marley and performing under the name of The Jerome Experience, holds several Guinness world records, including one as The World's Loudest Drummer.
On Friday 19th of April 2002 at Bournemouth International Airport, with South Coast Airways, The Jerome Experience established a World Record by becoming the first and only single artist drummer to play drums for 30 minutes on board a Dakota DC3 Aircraft at 3500 feet.
On Saturday 12th of April 2003 at 12:30pm in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, Woodgreen Animal Shelter The Jerome Experience established a World Record, approved by The Guinness World Records, by becoming the first loudest drummer in the world with the highest peak recorded at 109.1 decibels.
On July 7th 2007 (07-07-07) The Jerome Experience performed an exhibition of freestyle drumming, to a live audience at the Bay Tree Public House in Grove, Oxfordshire, UK. During the course of this performance, which lasted for over three and a half hours, Jerome established four new World Records.
The first was to beat his own record as the worlds loudest drummer with a sound level of 109.1 decibels. The Jerome Experience wanted to better this and achieved this with with a peak recorded level of 115.0 decibels.
The meter actually showed a number of higher readings but due to a pre-set "cut-off" at 115 it didn't record them to the print out, just listed them as "RMS level was exceeded" and "Overload level was exceeded". What's even more amazing is these readings were taken at random during the first 15 minutes of his regular performance; Jerome was playing a regular performance piece.
Next came 'The average of double bass drum beats over ten minutes', again this was incorporated into the overall performance as was the third record, 'The fastest double bass drums, legs only, in one minute'.
After a short change of style and an appeal to those present to give generously to the collection for two local schools, it was back to the drums for a two hour marathon of 'Double Bass with legs only'.
Just in case you're wondering: Jerome protects his own ears by wearing an extra-wide headband which he says is better than earplugs because it allows him to hear "the full integrity of the sound of the drums."
In the early 1990s Jerome drummed with Paris, Île-de-France-based band Morphyl Hate. He recorded a demo tape in 1993, followed by the 'Chapter 2' ep in 1999.
Jerome Dehedin moved to the UK in 1996 and has been living there ever since.
