Jed Dawkins played drums in Skyclad as a session musician for live performances. He joined the band after initial drummer Keith Baxter had decided to leave in 1995. Dawkins was a member of progressive metal act Inner Sanctum at the time.
Though Jed Dawkins never made it through to perform on any of Skyclad's full studio albums, he did perform on the limited edition release, "Outrageous Four Tunes". This issue became a bit of a collectors item as it was first received only as a promotional give away with "The Answer Machine". Dawkins also put in a sterling performance on what was one of their very first shows with the band at the Dynamo Festival 1995 which was recorded for posterity at the time but later released as the "Another Fine Mess" album in mid 2001, tagged together with the aforementioned "Outrageous Four Tunes" tracks as a bonus.
Fot the band's sixth album, "Irrational Anthems" (1996) Jed Dawkins was replaced by another session drummer: Paul Smith.
