Javier Plaza (Caracas, 1952) is a percussionist-turned-singer. He played percussion in legendary salsa group Sexteto Juventud in the late seventies.
Javier Plaza has been living in Europe from 1988 onwards, working with top Latin band Conexion Latina in Germany, and founding his own groups Son Risa and Sambroso. Javier Plaza is also solo vocalist in Paris based La Charanga Nueva, the group founded by ALfredo 'Cutufla' Franchesqui, also a former member of Sexteto Juventud.
