Initially Jan Keizer started his career as drummer in the band Empty Hearts. Next he was vocalist in the band Q-Tips (featuring Nico Runderkamp on drums). However, in 1968 he joined BZN as a drummer, replacing previous sticksman Jaap Sombroek.



In 1974, Jan Keizer became the lead singer, and Jack Veerman joined as drummer.
