Jackie Whitmill Jr. (also known artistically as "Jvice") is an accomplished American professional drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based out of Texas. Known for his deep grooves and versatility, his musical footprint spans across modern jazz, funk, hip-hop, and soul circles.

Early Life and Education

Musical Roots: Growing up, his musical world was profoundly shaped by classic neo-soul and R&B. A pivotal childhood moment occurred around 2001 when he discovered the D'Angelo & The Soultronics Live at Montreux video, practicing along to it on drums, guitar, and bass until he literally wore out the tape.

Formal Training: He attended the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas—a famous incubator for world-class musical talent. He later briefly furthered his training at the New England Conservatory of Music.
