Born in Brooklyn, New York, de Prume met Rob Zombie (Rob Cummings) and recorded Pig Heaven in 1986. All in all, de Prume performed almost all the White Zombie albums from Pig Heaven to the double-platinum hit record La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1.
De Prume left the band in 1992 to pursue a career as producer and studio owner. His Burningsound Studios was home to recording sessions from, among others, L7 and Paul Raven and Tommy Victor of Prong. He also began de Prume Productions and produced two short films.
He also made a cameo appearance on the Jack Off Jill album "Covetous Creature" along with former Marilyn Manson guitarist Scott Putesky.
In 2003 Ivan De Prume formed Los Angeles-based band Healer, which is completed by Scott von Heldt (Kurai, Theater Of Madness), Jerry Scott (Xyz, Molly Hatchet) and Martin St-Pierre (Cirque Du Soleil).
Healer was formed after de Prume began composing songs to forge his musical vision into the "sonic masterpiece" that would become the band's debut release, "Awakening".
Early 2007 De Prume joined Scum Of The Earth, the band featuring former Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs.
