Native of Barranquilla Colombia, Humberto Leon Ibarra Fernandez is a percussionist, composer and arranger who now resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL. (USA) and is considered to be part of the "new breed" of Colombian percussionists that are spread around the world. Since his arrival to the United States, only 3 years ago, Humberto has being called to serve as session percussionist in the studio recording with international artists such as Shakira, Cumbia Kings, DJ kane, Anissa Gathers, Alberto Barros, and legendary salsa producers such as Isidro Infante and Cuco Peña.
In addition Humberto Ibarra has worked with pop star Cristian Castro (DVD 2012), Margarita "The Cumbia Queen" (Mexico), Joe Arroyo (Colombia), and Latin Grammy nominee Paula Zuleta.
He is currently keeping a very busy schedule in the studio as well as touring with several well-known artists.
Humberto Ibarra is currently working with Celia Cruz The Musical "The Salsa Queen", Charlie Zaa, Sonora Carruseles and Alberto Barros and his "Tribute to Salsa".
Humberto Leon Ibarra is also in the process of producing his first "Solo effort" which will include the fusion of native Colombian rhythms, world music, jazz and other influences.
