Swedish drummer Ian Haugland (real name: Håkan Haugland) is probably best known for being the drummer in Europe. He joined Europe for the album "The Final Countdown", replacing Tony Reno and remained in the band until the split-up in 1992.
After that, Ian reformed an old band of his, Trilogy, and recorded an album with them in 1994.
In 1997 he joined a band called Clockwise, which also featured Europe and Brazen Abbot member John Levén. They released the album "Nostalgia", which goot very good reviews, and "Naive" was released the following year, in 1998.
Ian Haugland has played an all Brazen Abbot releases (which also feature singer Jørn Lande) and he also played on Glenn Hughes' albums "Burning Japan Live" and "From Now On..." and he is keeping himself busy with various music projects, including his own band Haughland and Friends.
He has also appeared on the Ozzy tribute album "Ozzified" and Nik Kotzev's rock opera "Nostradamus", as well as playing with Swedish bands Sha-Boom and Baltimoore.
In December 2003 Haugland also signs to Frontiers Records with his band Last Autumn's Dream, featuring ex-Europe members Mic Michaeli and John Levén, and Any Malecek from Fate's Warning.
