Herman Rarebell began his life in 1949 in Saarbrucken. By the age of 12 his passion for drumming was so extreme that he would practice on anything available, including an old sloped chair.
After qualifying in drums and piano at the Music School in Saarbrucken, he moved on to England where he began his international career as drummer and songwriter for hard rock band The Scorpions.
So far he has 78 Gold Records and 30 Platinum Records and has received many music awards, including an ECHO and a World Music Award.
Nowadays Rarebell plays in his new band R&R. The group, which includes Claudia Raab, an "exceptional" saxophone player and a successful actress/model, released their debut album, "The Rhythm of Art", in April 2004.
