Helge Andreas Norbakken plays drums and percussion. Between 1989 and 1998 he was a member of Mari Boine's band. During this period, he recorded several albums and extensively toured Europe and North America. Later he worked with Norwegian singer Kari Bremmes; he was also part of the Steiner Ofsdal Trio and collaborated with Kenyan percussionist Ayoub Ogada.
Recently, Helge Andreas Norbakken has worked with Swiss singer Laurence Rivey. His partnership with Maria João and Mário Laginha started with the tour that followed the release of Lobos, Raposas e Coiotes.
Norbakken also played with Terje Isungset on "Floating Rhythms" (2000), with Palisanderkvartetten on "Shaken - Not Stirred" (1998), and with Jon Balke & Magnetic North Orchestra on "Diverted Travels" (2004).
Helge A. Norbakken has also worked with Brazilian singer Lenine.
