Hans Nilsson plays drums in The Great Deceiver, featuring ex-At The Gates vocalist Thomas Lindberg. Nilsson replaced Kalle Anderson after the band's first EP "Jet Black Art".
Nilsson also plays in Swedish all star band Dimension Zero, spawned from the original line up of legendary In Flames, at first formed in 1996 as a sideproject from Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström. The band is also featuring ex-Marduk vocalist Jocke Göthberg and Pathos guitarist Daniel Antonsson.
Hans Nilsson's experience within the Swedish metal scene goes back 15 years, and has included Liers in Wait, with Kristian Wåhlin; Luciferian, an early band of Dark Tranquillity's Michael Nicklasson; and Crystal Age, consisting of Oscar Dronjak (HammerFall, ex-Ceremonial Oath) and Fredrik Larsson (ex-HammerFall).
Nilsson's style generally sways within the "blastbeat/double bass" tempo that is typical of death metal. However, one exception can be seen in Diabolique, which takes strong influence from gothic metal.
