Guillaume le Picard is a current student of longstanding Premier Artist Frederic Macarez. Highly regarded as one of the Worlds top timpanists, Frederic Macarez is principal timpanist of the Orchestra de Paris as well as being the founding director of the International Percussion Festival "perKumania" and the director of a PAS-sponsored international solo competition held in Paris. Additionally, he travels all around Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, performing solo recitals, concertos, and chamber music concerts with a variety of artists.
Guillaume le Picard is also winner of the 2006 Percussive Arts Society Solo Timpani Competition. Guillaume was the only non-American to compete in that year’s event and fought off strong competition to take the top prize.
Guillaume completed his winning performance on a set of Premier’s professional range of Elite Timpani which feature hand spun and polished parabolic copper bowls, full octave nominal tuning and leg operated clutch tuning pedals.
