Prof. Franz Schindlbeck got his first percussion lessons at the age of twelve. From 1983 to 1988 he studied percusion with Hermann Gschwendtner at the Academy of Music Trossingen.



Franz Schindlbeck was drummer in numerous bands, the Baden-Württemberg Youth Big Band, and 1988-1992 principal percussionist in the orchestra of the National Theatre Mannheim.



He was a member of the Berlin Philharmonik and founding member of The Berlin Philharmonic Jazz Group.



Since 1994 Franz Schindlbeck has been tutor in the Orchestral Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and since 2003 he guest professor for Timpani/ Percussion at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
